Kim Tilstone has over 25 years of experience in corporate development, financial management, and strategic planning for manufacturing businesses.

Kimberly A. Tilstone is a Managing Director at HWSC.  She is a senior level leader with broad-based, applied knowledge from her highly successful career experience on matters related to: (i) pricing, profitability and cash flow optimization, (ii) strategic plan development and execution, (iii) acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration, and (iv) financial operational excellence. Many clients feel that her greatest value and contribution stems from her skills related to coordinating strategy development and/or implementing growth strategies while working closely with cross-functional senior business leaders, and while often serving as a direct interface with internal and external customers and/or suppliers on matters related to negotiation of pricing and commercial terms to improve organic growth initiatives. Her combined financial and operational experience, also, improves results for clients when considering acquisitions and in achieving planned results after acquisitions have been completed.

Prior to joining HWSC, Ms. Tilstone worked for Kennametal, Inc. from 1990 to 2012. Kennametal is a $3 billion global manufacturing company providing innovative custom and standard wear-resistant solutions to industrial and infrastructure customers globally. Kennametal’s products and services touch nearly every manufacturing process. From 2000-to-2012, Ms. Tilstone served as Manager of Global Pricing Operational Excellence, managing and directing the strategic global pricing and profitability organization across all brands and channels. In this position, she developed and implemented price actions, and created strategic analytical models used to evaluate financial impacts of multi-million dollar global dual brand and multi-channel strategies, global pricing and competitor opportunities. She also established and executed brand, channel and customer pricing and profitability strategies relative to acquisitions and divestitures. Ms. Tilstone also used Six Sigma lean methodologies to standardize, automate and improve processes, and to design and implement SAP systems functionality.

During the first decade of her career with Kennametal, she served in various positions of increasing responsibility including division accountant, accounting analyst, financial analyst, corporate business development analyst, and corporate program director, cash cycle management.

Prior to Kennametal, Ms. Tilstone was a financial analyst with Beazer Materials & Services (1989-90) and in the corporate accounting department at AEG Westinghouse Transportation (1985-89).

Ms. Tilstone graduated with a B. S. Business Administration (accounting emphasis) from California University of PA.  She obtained a Master in Business Administration degree from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1995).
